Your wedding day is one of the most important of your life. You want a likeable, experienced professional to lead your ceremony and guide you through the phase leading up to the wedding. I have been a pastor for 20+ years and officiated over 100 weddings, and I love leading them! I have officiated weddings at Duke Chapel, Duke Gardens, The Umstead, and venues all over the country.
I create a personalized wedding ceremony that aligns with your values and communicates your love story. I also care deeply about your marriage and will encourage you to build healthy rhythms and develop the relationship during the hectic pre-wedding phase. I have been happily married for 20+ years to a psychotherapist and I share wisdom and resources that have benefited our marriage.
I develop an authentic relationship with each couple through a minimum of 3 meetings.
Meeting 1 (45 minutes)
This is an initial meet and greet with zero obligation and it can be done over the phone/Zoom. I will share more about my background and approach to officiating a wedding. I will also assess what you need for the wedding ceremony to determine if I am a good fit. After the session, the couple can decide if they want to move forward. If I am not the right fit, there will be no hard feelings and I will be happy to provide some additional references to consider!
Meeting 2 (75 minutes)
During this session, I get to know the couple and their love story. I ask lots of questions and take detailed notes that I will later use to create a custom story shared during the wedding ceremony. At this session, we will also co-create a first draft of the wedding ceremony.
Meeting 3 (90 minutes)
In our final session, we will finalize the draft of the wedding ceremony. The majority of the time will be spent on discussing marriage and the relationship beyond the wedding day. In this session, I share a custom model for a vibrant marriage relationship, as well as wisdom from my years of being married.
My standard officiating fee is $1,000, typically paid around the time of the wedding ceremony. This fee covers my time in the three meetings, the rehearsal, wedding ceremony, and creating a custom ceremony.
